South Kynouria Road Race – 51 km
Route and Checkpoints
Starting Point: Central Square of Kosmas, Arcadia.
Route: The course passes through the Panagia Elona Monastery, Leonidio, Plaka, Poulithra, and Pyrgoudi (Tsoumos).
Finish Line: Central Square of Peleta, Arcadia.
Checkpoints: Aid and support stations are located along the route.
Elevation Profile
Total Positive Elevation Gain: ~750 meters.
Course Description:
The first 21 km are mostly downhill.
The terrain becomes flat after the 30th km.
A steep uphill stretch spans the 37th to 39th km.
A gentler uphill follows from the 39th to 45.5th km.
The final kilometers are relatively flat.
Challenges and Difficulties
Distance: 51 km.
Time Limit: 7 hours and 45 minutes (runners must finish by 17:45).
Terrain: Asphalt roads with varying elevations and slopes.
Weather Conditions: Possible fluctuations due to seasonal factors.
